Week 55

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was crazy! For the first time in history the church had a live transmission with all the missionary's in the world! It was sick, the Apostles mostly spoke and I learned a bunch of things which my companion and I are bettering. For example one of the biggest things is how we teach, and now our teaching is insane lol.
This week one of our coolest experiences was that we found a couple named Ivan and Andrian. They told us that they both studied psychology, don't really go to a church and they really don't have a strong believe in God. So my companion and I were like ok this is going to be fun and while we were teaching them it was incredible because they had so many questions. Every time we gave a response to their questions they were both surprised and said ¨wow now I understand.''
At the end of the lesson it got kinda scary because Adrian said that recently she had some weird experiences with things happening in her house and room. She sees things. We told her that the reason why those things were happening was because she not a having any influence of the Holy ghost in her life. If she wanted those things to stop happening then she needs to do things that will bring the influence of the Holy ghost. She said that she had that desire and that she wants to be closer to God. They both were really happy that we had passed by to visit them and

heard our message.

Week 54

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was transfers and the good thing is that my companion Elder Hernandez and I are still companions! He is super sick and I'm glad that we are still together. One of the best experiences that happened this week was with a family named Cortez Perez. This Sunday only Joselyn and her daughter Jemina went to church because her parents Addy and Victor were out of the city. Joselyn loved it and that same night we went to their house and the whole family was there! We taught the plan of salvation and I've never seen a family so amazed and focused in a lesson like that one. The Spirit was present and strong and when we got to the part of the Celestial Kingdom and I started explaining how wonderful that place is the Mom started to cry. I then asked her if she would like to be there? Not alone but with her family? and she said ¨Yes!¨ Then I asked her if she could explain how she was feeling. She said "that she wishes that her parents and her brothers that have passed away could receive that blessing to be in the Celestial Kingdom.'' I looked straight at her and I told her that ´Yes! There is a way for our ancestors to still receive that blessing! Then we started explaining a little bit about how she can do it and she thanked us. I am very grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ which makes it possible for family's to be sealed together for eternity. I know that its true and that it's possible by the atoning sacrifice of our savior Jesus Christ.

Week 50 - 53

This Week on Elder Silva's mission it was Great because we had the Opportunity to help some of the missionaries in the Zone. But first one of the most painful thing happened to me. So I had an ingrown toenail for like a month until we met a member who does pedicures. So I asked her if it hurt to take out an ingrown toenail and she said yeah it hurts a lot and then she said  ¨Why do one of you have one?¨ And I said ¨maybe.¨ The next 30 min became the worst pain that I've ever felt lol. I do not recommend anyone to go do this.   ;) But other than that the Sister missionaries had a baptism and they said that the person who was getting baptized wanted me to do it because I was from Florida and I was like ¨It would be my pleasure¨ lol his name is Gabriel Sánchez and he was very excited to get baptized and his family as well! This week we also got the chance to see the Tijuana temple get dedicated. It was very special to see another House of the Lord get dedicated here on earth! :D

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was Navidad!!!!!!! It was great because I got to Skype my family :D Even though I was far away from my family I was still able to experience the Christmas spirit. So over here in Mexico they only celebrate the 24th  :(   But that day was kinda tough because all the streets were busy and people were in a hurry because there are parties and the food they have to prepare. That day we also didn't have that much success until it hit 8pm. We were a little sad because no one wanted to hear us and everyone was busy :( So my companion and were thinking about going home but for some reason we didn't and we just went walking until we hit one of our recent converts house named Graciela. We decided to do a little visit with her and she received us very well and her whole family was watching TV. Then she served us food but only to us, then I asked if she was going to accompany us and she said no. But then I told her, her sons and grandsons to accompany us. Then we all ended up all together at her table talking about Christmas and their plans for the New Year. We then sang a Christmas hymn and after the finishing the song we asked them how they felt and one of the daughters started to cry and then Graciela started to cry. They said that they have never sat at a table together as a family and ate dinner. Then they said that it was a very special moment and we were able to sit together and cherish that moment. At that moment I realized what Christmas was really about and it is thanks to our Savior Jesus Christ that families can truly be together for Eternity   :D

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was New Years!!!!!!!!!! #Party jk It wasn't anything too big over here, it was like a normal day in the mission lol. There were some fireworks and some drunk people in the streets but other than that it was normal. But there was some changes in the zone.  They took out the sister missionaries and put Elders in. Now they live with us at the house even though it's kinda tiny. But one of the Elders that came was actually one of my old companions Elder Lopez from Colombia. Since it's the new year it means it's a new me!!!!! jk -_-      But we did take this opportunity to find people that want to change for the better this year and guess what.... we found a bunch :)  We found a family named the Morales and they are made up of a dad and a wife and 3 kids. We found them one day in their house and we shared a video that called ¨Don't look back." It's about how we have to keep moving forward in life and not keep looking at the past. They liked it a lot and they said that one of the things they wanted to do better was having a better relationship with God as a Family. We Taught them about the Restoration and the Book Of Mormon and they liked it a lot and were excited to read from it. Also at the end of the lesson they had questions about what is our purpose here on earth and where we go after this life! We told them that God has a perfect plan for each one of his sons and daughters which is that one day we can return to his presence but as a family! I'm really excited to teach them that plan and we have a lesson with them today so yeah wish us luck!

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was holiday in Mexico where they celebrate the coming of the three wise men to Jesus. It is kinda like Christmas except the person that brings the gifts are the three wise men instead of Santa clause lol.  They also eat a special bread called Rosca and in the bread it has little toy baby and if the piece that you pick has the baby then that means you have to buy Tamales for everyone. This year I was lucky enough to not get a baby lol. This week was also pretty crazy because my companion had special transfers and my new companion is Elder Hernandez. He is pretty famous in the mission because he was the assistant to our Mission President. He is super sick because he has more experience and I've learned things in the last couple of days which have helped me become a better missionary. This week we found a new couple to teach they are named Adi and Victor. At first Victor didn't really wasn't interested but when he started listening to our message he opened up a lot. He said that he is from another religion but he doesn't feel comfortable there and that it lacks something but he doesn't know what it is. By the end of the lesson we invited him to get baptized and he was really interested and started asking questions like where do we baptize and how does someone prepare to get baptized. Really it was incredible and we left him The Book of Mormon so that he can read it and ask God the Father if the book is true. He then said ¨of course I'll read it¨ and his wife was also very interested. They both have a baptismal date for the 30th of January  :D
