Week 92 (The Final Week)

This Week on Elder Silva's mission it was one of the most saddest and happiest weeks in my whole mission.... Why? Well for many reasons but I would like to share a experience that my companion Elder Jenkins and I had that changed our lives.
So the sister that we baptized, Silvia, turned out to be the hardest baptism that I've had my whole mission. We've been teaching her for almost three months and she has gone to church like seven times and she has been reading the Book Of Mormon and praying constantly. So you would think it would have been easy for her to decide to get baptized however she has had three baptismal dates and all of them fell through. She had two baptismal interviews and she even talked with our Mission President on the phone but nothing seemed to work.......
I received a call on Thursday night saying that I was going to have transfers on Monday to Macuspana and that I was going to end my mission there opening a new area which means starting from zero :(    I was really worried about the news and the first thing that came to my mind was Silvia and that she had to get baptized before I leave. I know it might seem kinda wrong but if you were to knew the things that she has received as a testimony of the veracity of the church it would blow your mind. She has had five dreams and three of them were about the Tree Of Life and how she ate the fruit of the three. The other two dreams were about her baptism and I happened to be part of the dream.... Sorry but right know I have to leave and I'll finish this story when I get back.

Week 91

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was bomb! We Baptized Diana! She is awesome! So a little bit about her is that she was actually a reference from a member. The member was her college teacher and he brought her to church and presented us to her. She had a lot of questions about the church but she said that she liked it alot!
We started teaching her and she is a very nice girl. She didn't have a hard time in keeping any of the commandments because she didn't break none of them, she was basically a member already lol. But something kind of weird happened last week. We had a appointment last week with her and my companion went with another missionary. When they got to her house her dad came out and was kind of rude to them and she didn't come out. So we were worried about her and wondering if her family was going to let us to teach her still. But she called us and said that she was sorry about what her dad and that it was better if we taught her at the church so that's what we've started doing :)
One of the most amazing things that happened was when we invited her to be baptized and she said that she wanted to think about it.  We invited her to pray about it and promised her that God was going to respond her. So one day we were at the church building for an activity she came up to us and said ¨Remember how you guys asked me if I was willing to get baptized?" "Well the answer is YES!¨ My companion and I were both in shock and she explained how she prayed and said that God answered her prayer! That's another testimony that God really does answer his children's prayers if they are willing to do his will he will ANSWER!

Week 90

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was great. We had district conference and our Mission President talked and it was really inspirational. We are currently teaching a lot of great people. We are teaching Paola's mom and her friend Dalila. They are really great people and they actually went to see conference and loved it!
However, my companion Elder Jenkins is currently sick :(    He has a fever and an infection in his stomach. We are actually going to do some divisions today with a member so that we can go visit some of the investigadores. One of them is Diana and she is planning to get baptized this weekend!

Week 89

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was awesome. My companion Elder Jenkins and I are having divisions with the whole zone everyday and things seem to be working really well. The areas are getting better and the zone just seems stronger.
But one of the crazy things that happened was that I had my last zone Conference with the Mission President and all the zone leaders in the mission. It was really nice and also sad because there are a total of four missionaries that are leaving that were at the zone conference and they are really good friends of mine.
One of them was Elder Beal; we actually got trained in the same district. And Elder Lynch who was in my first zone and Elder Santos who I'm actually going to baptize some of his family that were in my other area in Parrilla in the coming weeks! It was really nice to hear their testimonies on how they were strengthened in the last 23 months.

Week 88

This week on Elder Silva was pretty rough we tried to really find people to teach but for some reason we just get rejected pretty hard. But after hearing the 186th General Conference it was like a spiritual boost! I love to hear the words of the church leaders especially the Prophet and the Apostles.
One of the talks that I liked a lot was David A. Bednar's, how he was explaining that having faith in Jesus Christ is not enough but we have to actually believe in Him. Not only believe in Him but believe in His promises that they will be completed. For example believe in the commandments but most of all in His Atonement and that through His Atonement we can be clean and be saved and actually believe in the Savior!
I also like the talk of the Prophet Thomas S. Monson and how he just talked very little but something really important which was the Word of Wisdom and The Plan Of Salvation.  How that is something very special and that we have the opportunity to know it and that we should share It!

Week 86

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was awesome. We had the baptism of Guadalupe! She's great, she is friends with Paola who got baptized three weeks ago. We found Guadalupe when we were teaching Paola and and told about sharing the blessings she's received with others. She asked how she'd know who to invite to share the gospel with and we told her that the only person that knows this is our Heavenly Father. He knows all his of children's thoughts, desires and situations that they are going through.
So we invited her to pray and ask God to put someone in her way so that she can share her testimony. She said that she was going to do it and that she would contact us if anything happens. Guess what happened the next day she went to school? Yup, her prayer was answered; it was at 9:30 am when I received a phone call from Paola. She said "I can't believe it I can't believe it, I have someone that wants to hear you guys and she is right her next to me¨ and it was Guadalupe!
That's how we found Guadalupe but that's not all. While we were teaching her, we invited her to be baptized and she said ¨Yes¨ but she then said ¨wait my parents will never let me get baptized in your church¨ and we asked her why not and she said "because my parents are super Catholic and they will never let me.¨ We asked her if she really wanted to do this and if she wanted to receive the Holy Ghost in her life? She said ¨Yes," then we told her ¨have Faith and everything is going to be fine." She agreed and that same day she called her parents and her parents said yeah it's fine if is something that she wants then it's ok! She was speechless and started to cry because she never thought her parents would support her decision.
Last week Guadalupe had a lot of trails because random people would start talking to her and tell her that her that she was making bad decision. We told her not to worry and to always remember the feeling that she felt during church and during the lessons. This last Saturday was her baptism and she was extremely happy with the decision she made! I know that our Heavenly Father answers our prayers like Paola's prayer was answered that day. And they are answered so that other people can be blessed like Guadalupe!

Week 85

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was amazing! We had another baptismal service for the Serrano family . So this family is amazing because they have showed a lot of faith in our Savior. We found this family when one day I was walking with my companion and he said "hey look at that family, lets contact them." The family was already passing us and I was thinking it would be a little awkward walking back to talk to them. But I said "whatever let's do it!"
So we did it and talked to them, the dad agreed to meet with us and gave us their address. We didn't really think much of it until the day we went to their house to teach them. The dad wasn't there because he is part of the military so we were only able to teach the mom and her children. They loved the lesson and the mom was just really happy and we asked her why? She said that her husband has never let any religious people pass by her house and that the day we contacted her she was in shock when he gave us their address. She actually asked her husband if he was sick or if he was ok because she just couldn't believe it.
After passing many times we still haven't had the opportunity to really talk the dad because he's always doing military work, but he supports his family going to church and that we teach them. I'm confident that the Lord softened that dad's heart so that we can share this great message with his family, now we just need the opportunity to share it with him! :D

Week 84

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was spectacular! Freddy was baptized this last Saturday and the baptismal service was great. We had a total of nine investigadores assist the baptism! Freddy is a very special guy that lived a tough life, when we found him he actually went to church by himself with the help of a brother named Mandujano. So Freddy is renting one of Mandujanos apartments and studying here in Tenosique. The crazy thing is that he was listening to missionaries where he used to live and he had heard almost all the lessons. While we were teaching Freddy we set a baptismal service for him about 2 weeks ago but sadly that Monday his father passed away and he was just really sad and he left for a week.
While he was gone we kept in contact with him and the next week he came back. He still was a little sad about his father's death so we taught him the plan of salvation. It helped him a lot understand God's plan that he had for Freddy and his father. So he decided to keep on moving forward and following our Savior by making a covenant with our Heavenly Father through Baptism!

Week 83

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was the bomb! I have a new companion Elder Jenkins and he is from Moroni Utah. I actually new Elder Jenkins when I had 6 months in the mission and now we are companions :D      We are working really hard to get our zone Tenosique up and running!
This week we baptized a sister named Paola and her story is very inspiring. She actually contacted us and she said that she wanted to hear our message and I was kinda weirded out but we said it was okay. When we started teaching her she was really interested and was keeping all the commitments that we left her such as the commandments, reading the Book Of Mormon and praying. I started to wonder why she was so receptive until one day she told us the reason she was was first looking for us.
She said that she has been looking for us for about 2 weeks but could never get a hold of us. She said that she had a dream of a man dressed in white and that man told her to find us and to go to the church. While she was explaining her experience I felt the Spirit and I could tell the desire and the faith that this young girl had I was surprised. She told us that her parents and close friends said that she was crazy but she knew what she felt and what she experienced. I told her that her experience was something sacred and that she should always remember it and that it was a blessing that she had that experience. This last Sunday Paola was baptized and she was very happy and that she is very grateful that she could find the gospel in her life.
We are also teaching a brother named Freddy and he also very special and he is going to get baptized next week :) I Love this Gospel!

Week 81

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was kinda sad but also pretty good. I got special transfers and I left Parrilla  :(  I was there for 9 huge months and I was really attached with the people there -_- But the Lord has something else for me in store here in Tenosique!
It's a really beautiful place, it's by the border of Guatemala which is like 40 min away. There are a bunch of immigrants here from South America. The branch here is really nice even though there aren't many members but the members that go to church are really loving. We have a lot of plans for the branch here like working with the Branch President and really finding people that are going to be a benefit the branch.
My new companion is Elder Valdez he is from the Dominican Republic and we are currently assigned as Zone leaders. We are going to help the zone so yeah there's a whole bunch of work to do here. I am really excited to start getting the movement here started and serving the Lord.

Week 78 & 79

Week 79

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was a miracle. We were able to baptize Fabian and it really was a great experience. So Fabian has been sick for a couple of months and the doctors said that he has blood Cancer. So he has been really weak and could barely move without getting really tired. The day of his baptism was really special because he walked in the church with both of his parents and they were walking with him and holding him so that he wouldn't fall.
As they were walking in, there were tears falling from his mother's eyes and during the service she shared that she was very grateful that her son had made the decision to follow the Savior. I saw the faith that he had towards the Lord and he really wanted to get baptized and it didn't matter the situation that he was in, he went and did it. I learned in that moment that there is no excuse and that we should always follow the example of our Savior and help others do the same!

Week 78

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was great! Two of our new investigadores attended church this Sunday and they loved it. One of the investigadores is called Erika and she is around 25 years old. While I was teaching one of the classes we started asking the investigadores how far they're in reading the Book Of Mormon and everyone said 1 Nefi chapter 1-3. We asked Erika she said she just finished 1 Nefi and was starting 2 Nefi. Everyone in the class was like WHAT! I started laughing and then they felt bad and promised to start reading more.
The other Investigador that went to church for the first time was a 14 year old called Samantha. Her family is really poor and are going through really tough obstacles. But she is awesome because she wants to help her family get out of poverty so she focuses a lot in her studies and her grandma told us that she's recognized for being the smartest in her middle school. She liked church and wants her family to go with her, so we are going to help her and her family so that they can receive the blessings of the Lord.

Week 77

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was great! Andres was able to get baptized and it was pretty funny because on the day of his baptism w]hen we went to his house to do the interview and in the morning,  he was sleeping -_-
And he didn't want to get up because he was super tired and we told him alright its fine we can come later and postpone his baptism for a later date and he said ¨No you guys are already here but is it fine if I can have my interview here in my bed? ¨ We were like yeah that's fine lol
An hour later he was baptized and he said that he was very grateful and happy for the decision that he made!  We also had a lot of people that went to church this week and they loved it. One of them was Geraldo. He has three daughters and a wife but he was the only one that was able to go this Sunday. He said he liked it a lot and that he wants his family to go and experience what he felt when he went. We are going to go with them this week and try to help his family because they are going through many difficult situations at the moment.

Week 75 and 76

Week 76

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was amazing. First we had a farewell conference for our Mission President :(  I'm going to miss him but apply everything that I've learned from him with the new president that comes this Tuesday!
We were also in a trio and the missionary that I was with, Elder Peterson, ended his mission today so that was kinda sad. But before he left we were able to go to a museum called La Venta and it was really cool because they had all sorts of ancient artifacts.
One that is really well known is the Olmeca Head. People here say that they are the people known as the Jaredites which are mentioned in the Book of Mormon.
We also had the opportunity to baptize Juliana and her daughter Naomi who are super awesome! They are the ones that have an ice cream stand outside their house. The baptismal service was really special, we had a sister play the violin and had people sing. Julian was really happy that they were able to make this covenant with God together!

Week 76

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was pretty nerve wracking because we had transfers this week and I've been in Parrilla for a total of 8 months. Even though that's a really long time, I have come to love this place. We got the call from the offices about transfers and they said that I wasn't being transferred   :O
I was relieved because we have a lot of people that we are teaching and are preparing for baptism and I want to keep helping these people. I know that I still have a lot of work left here in Parrilla and I am going to do all that I can to keep helping the people here.

My hijo and I are training so that we can complete all the things that my heavenly father wants me to do. We met our new mission President Haws and Sister Haws and they are really excited to be here in the Villahermosa Mission. One of the things that I liked about the new president was that at his welcoming he said ¨I don't want to waste a lot of your time so I am going to talk really quick so you guys could go out and work in the lords Vineyard.¨ That surprised a lot of us because we thought it was going to be special conference but we were wrong lol

Week 73 and 74

Week 73

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was great. We are planing on baptizing Guadalupe this week and she is very excited. The good thing about her is that every time we go and teach her she has tons of questions and we try our best to answer them. Once we answer them she really understands the response. We are also teaching her sisters and hopefully they all progress and have a desire to change their lives.
This week was also really scary because one morning I woke I was doing my normal things like showering and getting dressed to study, once I sat on my chair and opened my Book Of Mormon I felt something crawl down my leg. So I wiggled my leg and I saw something black fall and I started to look for the thing that fell in the ground and there was nothing. Until all of the sudden I saw a SCORPION!!! It crawled out and I was like what the heck and I told the rest of the missionary's of what happened and they saw the scorpion and they all got scared lol. It kept crawling and it went into one of the missionary's bags that was on the floor and we grabbed a stick and pushed it out and smashed it. So now every time that I put something on I check in case if there is a scorpion in it. I was lucky that the scorpion didn't sting me :O

Week 74

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was a great experience for my son it. It was his first baptism and he was super happy to do it. The sister who got baptized is named Guadalupe and she is the aunt of a member and since the first day that we taught her she was really receptive. I could tell that she is going to be a really strong member in the Church. She loves to read and she really understands the gospel.
We also have another person that we are teaching named Juliana and she is awesome also. She has a small shaved ice stand outside her house and every time that we teach her she gives us shaved ice! It got to the point that when we teach her a bunch of people go to buy the shaved ice so that my companion could still teach and I would prepare the shaved ice while she is getting taught lol

Week 72

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was really expecting! First off I thought that I was going to be transferred because I have been in Parilla for six months and a half and that's a super long time!!!!! I was not only transferred but I'm also training a new missionary Elder Roque or AKA Mi Hijo/My Son lol. He is one of the funniest people that I have met, he is from Ecuador and he is just a really happy person. We get along really well because I have been to Ecuador a bunch and we just relate a lot!
This entire week we have been working really hard to find new people to teach and contacting a bunch of people. We are currently teaching four families who are really good and we are praying that these families keep on progressing. The Guzman family was a really great experience. One day we contacted the parents in the street and we passed by their little store that they have and once we got there they looked at us like uhhh and it was kinda awkward. But we broke the ice and we asked if it was fine if we started with a prayer and she said ¨yes.¨ She had 2 daughters there, Betsy and Hanna and we asked them if they wanted to join and they said ¨no.¨ :(     So we started teaching them and the lesson got really spiritual and we started to involve the daughters and they started to participate and by the end of the lesson the whole family was together in prayer and it was really special for the mom to see her daughters pray. I know that through the gospel families are able to have that unity and peace in their family and I'm very grateful for it!

Week 69

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was sweet because we had a stake conference. We had a seventy visit us Elder Salinas. He was a really powerful speaker and he talked a little bit about obedience and said something really interesting that made me think a lot. He said that "If God were to come to this Earth, all materials like the trees, mountains, and oceans would recognize who He is immediately. If he were to tell the material to move or do something they would immediately obey! But if God would tell us, the human race, to do something we would think about it and look for ways not to obey. This may include attending church weekly, reading the scriptures daily, and daily prayer. Most of us would not obey." This really got me thinking about how much more I need to be more obedient and try to help others to be obedient. He talked a lot about the family and how it is important to have time for them and doing family home evenings. It is also important to start doing good traditions and stop doing the bad traditions that many people do such as only being a Christian on Sundays for certain hours and then doing other stuff the rest of the time . He said that we need to be real disciples of Christ, a 100%. I know that the leaders of the church are true and that they are there to help us, if we follow their advice we are going to be to be closer to our Savior Jesus Christ.

Week 63, 64, 65

Week 63

This week on Elder Silva’s mission it was General Conference and there was a bunch of talks that I liked a lot! One of my favorite talks was by Mervyn B. Arnold where he talked about how we shouldn´t wait to save someone. There are people that are passing by really difficult things in their lives and we have to reach out and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them. He mentioned that there was a bishop who was really close with the young men of his ward and he noticed that one of the young men was missing. He wasn’t going to church so he went out looking for him. He found the young man at the beach surfing, so he didn’t waste any time and went in the water with all his clothes. He told him that they missed him at church. Years later this young man got married in the temple and now has 5 children and 15 grandchildren and is serving as a Bishop for the 3rd time!
There were many talks that were amazing and now that I’m on the mission they keep me motivated to keep on working with all my heart, might, mind, and strength. I know that the Savior lives and that he resurrected and thanks to Him we can all resurrect and be able to live with our families for all eternity. I leave these things in the name of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Amen.

Week 64

This week has been the most spiritual and greatest week that I had on the mission! First we had the great opportunity of having President Morales and his wife join us in a Zone meeting in Gaviotas. It was a great experience and we got to implement what we learned during our meeting. A man who was looking around knocked on our door so we invited him in while we were practicing. This gave us the opportunity to demonstrate some real teaching to the zone and President. This man accepted to get ready for baptism and he told us that he would love us to teach his family. Later we asked him what brought him to the church and he said in his own words ¨I don’t know and to be honest, I don’t remember anything until the moment that I realized that I was inside the church."

On the 9th of April one of my converts was sealed in the temple with his 3 daughters and his wife for all eternity! I was blessed and very grateful to be able to go to their temple sealing and experience the power of the Priesthood and feel the Spirit in that moment. Later that day we had a baptism and it was going to be Elder Hernandez’s last baptism as a missionary. It was such a wonderful sight to see 11 people in white and 6 people choosing to enter the waters of baptism. I know that this church is true and I know that the power of the Priesthood is real and thanks to the Priesthood all these ordinances are able to work and are accepted in the eyes of God. I know that families can be together for eternity and as a representative of Jesus Christ I have to be prepared and worthy every moment. Thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ I’m able to repent and be worthy. I know that our Savior lives and that miracles do exist and I leave this things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Week 65

This week on Elder Silva’s mission it was awesome. My new companion Elder Lopez and I are getting along very well and we are working really hard. We have found a lot of new people to teach, we are currently teaching a family named Mendosa. They consist of a mom, dad and their 8 year old son Jose. The mom named Veronica has already gone to the church but stopped going and her husband Pedro is barely getting to know the church for the first time. So far he has said that during the lessons and going inside the church he feels a peace that he has never felt in any other moment and place in his life. They are really excited about the Church and they’re very nice humble people who want a family built on the foundation that is Christ.
We are also teaching a 20 year old girl named Samantha who is 8 months pregnant. She has gone through a lot of stuff in her life and she wants to face her problems and not fall. She actually had the opportunity get to know the Church before but she stopped going because of some family problems. We have faith that we are going to be able to help her so that she can receive peace and strength in her life.

Week 61 and 62

Week 61

This week on Elder Silva’s mission it was hot! Not only hot but scorching, this is the time where the temperature in Tabasco runs up to 100-105 degrees. This last Friday the heat took me out and beat me     -_-      I got dehydrated and I was out for a day and I was dying with head and body pain. I got to a fever of 104 so yeah it was pretty bad. I thought I would never get dehydrated but I let my guard down and didn’t drink a lot of water. Right now I’m feeling a lot better but still a little weak and just taking things nice and slow. I know everything is going to turn out fine because what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger right??? Jk
Other than that we are teaching a couple names Sebastian and Teresa, they are golden. They love the Church and they want to start a new life as a family. They have two really cute children and one of them is a baby named Gretle and she is so cute and she always smiles when she looks at me lol. So we are helping them to get married and after they get married they are going to get baptized!!! We are planning to do it as soon as possible but it’s pretty tough to get people married here in Mexico apparently. So we are hoping this week they can get married!

Week 62

This week one Elder Silva’s mission it was great. First off Ingrid was able to get baptized and it was really special. Her mom was kind of not fully supportive but Ingrid told her mom that she wanted to and her mom let her! Her sisters were really happy because they were also baptized and are happy that their little sister was able to get baptized as well.
This week was also great because the Guzman family went to church and loved it. The mom was very happy that she went and her daughters loved the classes! Update on Sebastian and Teresa they are still in the process in getting married. We went to the courthouse and since this week is spring break they are not working. They said that we had to come back on the 7th of Abril   :( Other than that they are still really excited to get married and we are going to help them until the end!

Week 57 - 60

Week 57

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was awesome. We had the opportunity to have a family home evening with the Cortes Perez family and they enjoyed it very much! Also this week Sister Silvia was able to get Baptized and it was very special. We found her or should I say she found us. First she came one day to church on a Sunday by herself and the members of the church became really good friends with her. They even helped her move from her house. We then started to visit her and she was really happy because she was in need of the gospel in her life. She has two kids, one is Maria and the other one is Esteban. She hasn't had a job in a while because she was laid off. So she was really receptive when we taught the lessons and she felt the Spirit strongly and she wanted to feel that peace more in her life.
We also are teaching a young man named Ramon who is the sickest guy. He also went to church by himself and wanted to change his life because he said one day he was sitting in his room and said to himself that ¨he didn't want to keep living the way that he was living." He has been through a lot of things in his life and decided to make a change. He was so excited when we told him that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can repent of our sins and have those bad feelings go away. He also accepted to get baptized this Friday and he is very excited! :D

Week 58

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was great. I don't have that much time to write but this week went well. Jose Ramon was baptized and the service was very special and spiritual! The family that helped him change sang a special number at his baptism and one of the young men made a slide show video of pictures of Jose Ramon when he was a little kid. Jose Ramon started to cry and he was very grateful for the support of the members of the church. We are currently are finding more people to teach and during these few days we have found a bunch of people that we are teaching currently. We are hoping that they can be blessed in their lives like I have in my Life :D

Week 59

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was great.  We had the opportunity to have a special conference with two Zones. Villahermosa, Gaviotas Zone and President Morales was there with his wife Sister Morales. We had a two hour long practice session with of all the lessons that we teach. At the end of the conference we had the opportunity to play VOLLEYBALL!!! It was super sick, President, his wife and his daughter were playing and it got pretty intense lol. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to play some volleyball.
We are teaching a young girl named Ingrid who is 12 and she is the sweetest little girl. She always serves us water and always invites us to  eat lol. She went to church this Sunday and she took us water and a little treat to eat :)  The funny thing is that she is the shyest person ever and doesn't like to participate a lot but with us she is a little more open. We are hoping that her mom can support her with her decision on getting baptized because this week we are going to ask her :D

P.S. After playing volleyball my body was killing me #outofshape

Week 60

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was crazy! First one of the greatest experiences happened this Sunday to us. A young man named Reyner was baptized and it was very special. We found him one night when we were walking and had a set lesson with a kid named Omar. So while I was walking all the houses started to look the same so I knocked on a house thinking it was Omar´s house and out comes Reyner. He was really nice and asked us who were and we told him we were looking for Omar. He looked at us and said that there was no one named Omar that lives there. I just thought he was lying to us so I kept insisting that Omar lived there and told him  ¨Hey I just talked with him yesterday and I know that he lives here.¨ He then called all his roommates asking if they knew some Omar kid and each one them said ¨No.¨ I also told them that I talked with a kid named Omar the day before. Then they all got scared and thought that their house was haunted or that someone robbed it that day lol. So I changed the subject and told them that we had a very special  message that we would like to share with them and they invited us in. We were able to talk to Reyner and a girl named Pamela who is a member of the church but with due to some problems she kind of left the church however, this Sunday Reyner was Baptized and Pamela went to his baptism. I know they are both going to go to church :D
This week was also transfers and I was actually pretty scared because I was the one that was most likely to get transferred out of the area  :(   I did get transferred out but the crazy part is that I got transferred to the same location I was in but with a different companion    -_-     I'm literally living in the same house but in a different room lol. So I'm actually really happy to be in the same area because the members are great and it's a sick area!  Also my ex companion is still living in the same house so it's going to be sick because he is going to train a new missionary that gets here tomorrow and we are all going to be living in the same house :) My new companion is Elder Knoblec and he is from Washington and has the same time on the mission as me. I've seen him before and he is a really good missionary and I'm excited to work with him here in my new area Parrilla 2!

Week 56

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was one of the best moments of my whole mission! So first off I would like to start from the beginning. One day we were on divisions with the assistants of the mission and they had contacted a lady while they were traveling to my area. So when they got to my area they said that we should visit this lady and that her name was Addy. We went by her house and her husband came out kinda rude and didn't really want us there and told us that she wasn't home and to come another day.
So a couple of days went by and my companion and I decided to try again and this time her daughter came out and was also a little rude. She told us that Addy wasn't home and that she normally isn't home so we left. A week later we're walking by her house with my new companion and I remember the reference and I felt a feeling to visit her, but in my head I was thinking they are just going to reject us again. I didn't really want to visit the house but for some reason I just went to the house Guess what; her husband came out and I was like oh man he is going to yell at us but he said to wait a moment and went inside. Addy came out and invited us in and I was like what’s going on? LOL
So we went inside and the whole family was there; her husband Victor, her daughter Jocelyn and her granddaughter Xiomena. We taught the restoration and the Spirit was really strong and they said that they loved the message and wanted us to pass by more often. We went by again and this time we taught the Plan of Salvation and when we got to the part of families being together for eternity Addy and Jocelyn began to cry. We told them that in the temple families can be sealed together for eternity and they said that they wanted to be sealed.

On the next visit Addy told us that she spoke with her husband. They said that they both wanted to get sealed in the temple and my companion and I were like Wow! We told her that it's possible but it she needs preparation and she said that she was willing to do anything so that her family could be sealed. We then started teaching them the commandments and they all agreed to follow them! From the first day that we met this family (Cortes Perez) we had a planned baptismal date for the 30th of February. This last Sunday this family was baptized and it was truly a blessing for me and the family. I learned to be Patient and to be loving to everyone because the Lord is patient and loving and I am just his representative  :D

Week 55

This week on Elder Silva's mission it was crazy! For the first time in history the church had a live transmission with all the missionary's in the world! It was sick, the Apostles mostly spoke and I learned a bunch of things which my companion and I are bettering. For example one of the biggest things is how we teach, and now our teaching is insane lol.
This week one of our coolest experiences was that we found a couple named Ivan and Andrian. They told us that they both studied psychology, don't really go to a church and they really don't have a strong believe in God. So my companion and I were like ok this is going to be fun and while we were teaching them it was incredible because they had so many questions. Every time we gave a response to their questions they were both surprised and said ¨wow now I understand.''
At the end of the lesson it got kinda scary because Adrian said that recently she had some weird experiences with things happening in her house and room. She sees things. We told her that the reason why those things were happening was because she not a having any influence of the Holy ghost in her life. If she wanted those things to stop happening then she needs to do things that will bring the influence of the Holy ghost. She said that she had that desire and that she wants to be closer to God. They both were really happy that we had passed by to visit them and

heard our message.
